Apollo Engineering Wins Manufacturer of the Year for the Second Time

Apollo Engineering has won Manufacturer of the Year (50 or more employees) at the 2026 Hunter Manufacturing Awards. It is our second win in this category, after 2024, and on the same night we also won Excellence in Sustainability.

The awards were presented at NEX Newcastle on Friday 30 October, in front of more than 400 guests. Ben Bronkhorst and Nathaniel Glasheen accepted both awards on behalf of the team. Thank you to Downer for sponsoring Manufacturer of the Year.

The judges recognised one integrated operation in Tamworth

The judges looked at how we bring engineering, production, testing and lifecycle support together in one business, and at our continued investment in systems, people and processes.

They also recognised the new solutions we develop with outside partners, and our work with schools and students on careers in manufacturing.

We are a family-owned Tamworth business with more than 30 years in manufacturing and around 70 people.

Our contract manufacturing services cover engineering and product development, laser cutting, CNC folding, machining, fabrication, robotic and laser welding, assembly and finishing.

A national ESG award set the stage for our Hunter wins

On 8 October in Melbourne, Apollo Engineering and Biofeed won the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Award at the national Australian Manufacturing Awards, where we were a finalist in seven categories.

Behind that award sits work right across the business: rooftop solar on our factory, the Launch Pad program with local schools, our apprenticeships, and support for local charities and community events.

It includes the products we design and build ourselves. Our automated parts washers give workshops an alternative to hydrocarbon solvents, and Biofeed helps businesses keep food waste out of landfill.

Congratulations to Elecbrakes, Manufacturer of the Year (less than 50 employees), and to every 2026 winner and finalist. Read the coverage from Industry Update and Australian Manufacturing.

These awards belong to our whole team in Tamworth. Thank you to the Hunter Manufacturing Awards, our customers and our partners for continuing to support what we are building.
